How can I move all of my contacts and mail from my Yahoo account to my GMail account?

I would like to access my email through Outlook Express but I dont pay for my Yahoo account so I have signed up with Gmail as they have POP access but I dont have any of my contacts or mail in there so how do I do this? I cant forward every message because I am using 8% of 1GB so I would take ages. PLEASE HELP!!

you have to export the yahoo address to an excel csv file.


then import that file in to gmail.


you will get all the contacts. however, gmail does not read csv files exactly like yahoo, hence you will have to walk through all your contacts just to make sure evthing is alrite.

Reply:Goto settings in yahoo mail.


There is an option there which says import contacts . Select that option and the file is downloaded. Goto gmail and select settings. Select import contacts. Just upload that downloaded file that you did from yahoo mail. :-)

Reply:there is nothing you can do about that, maby try checking all the checks next to the mail and hit forward. You can export the contacts and upload them to Gmail.

its free and and if you log in to yahoo theres even a link to set it up for you. works with outlook express and keeps all contacts and folders
