You can't all you can do is check to see if mail is read or not.

i don't think there is any way maybe if that person is very beginner and forget to set that mail to unread and you know that mail wasn't read by you the best way is change pass in setting tab at account tab. it's also good to check your filters recently on filter as virus put it's filter and forward the mail to other person if you have unknown filter remove it immediately.
