Gmail is no longer invite only... it used to be that someone would have to invite you to join. Now it's available to anyone, heres a link to sign up:

u don't need a sponsor.just go to www.gmail.com ... you can sign up for gmail from the homepage itself:)...enjoy the best mailing site:):)
