Do you need to have a gmail account to open a google spreadsheet ?

I want to send a google spreadsheet link to users having email ids on other domains like ril.com, ibm.com, hotmail.com, yahoo.com


Is it possible.. if yes then how... Thanks

Yes you need a Gmail account to edit the spreadsheet.





But if you just want the people to view it - you can get the link by going into


Share %26gt; get the link to share %26gt; select only view (no sign in required)





To edit the sheet users will need to sign in to Gmail.
Reply:If you want to put up one on Google docs, then yes, you need to own a gmail account as Google docs is a Google product for which you will need to sign up.





However, if you want to share your doc with users registered with different email providers, simply click open the spreadsheet and click on the "Share" button found on the top right. Upon clicking, you will find a list of "to do" options. Select "get the link to share" and you're done. You will be provided with the link and anybody could view the doc without having to own a google account.
