It drives me crazy trying to send my contacts from yahoo messenger contact list,,it goes straight to my gmail @ google.
Why does yahoo use my gmail account to send my friends in my messenger contact list?
is your alternate email address the gmail? if yes, then perhaps that's the reason. change your setting.
