Hi,
I've been noticing the size increase slowly, is that based on user behavior or a marketing gimmick or both? :-)

What's the logic behind the increasing available space of a Gmail account?
It is not completely based on User behavior, thou they claim it so. The concept is, they have a collective space for n number of users and they just show the tickling meter as a marketting gimmick.
say there or 100 users for a particular disk(shared), at a time all the 100 of them are not gona use the space fully. So they have it, in case u need it, you will get it. It is there, but not for u, if u want, u will get it. thats the logic
Reply:the more space you have the more information you can store.
dont knock it if its free and works.
Reply:They are trying to attract more email users, so they can sell more ads, so they can increase revenue, so their stock will rise.
Reply:They want you to slowly become dependent on them. Also, it gives them more info to turn over to the government.
Reply:not sure what you mean about user behavior but i think partly at least a marketing gimmick
Reply:Some webmail providers increase space in an adhoc way and unpredictably - eg hotmail or yahoo. Google just increase it little by little every day.
