If i asked google, could they give me the ip address of an email sent by another gmail account?

i need to trace an email sent by a gmail account to mine. does google have this info or am i wasting my time?

Copy header of email that you want to have IP address and try to find IP address using this email tracing tool:

Reply:If they did have it, they wouldn't give it to you. If it was sent from the online GMail interface, it is untraceable. If it was sent from an E-Mail client like Thunderbird or Outlook, you can view the IP address by viewing the header of the E-Mail.

If you feel a crime has been commited, contact the police.





If not, you are wasting your time. This is a Privacy Issue.
